I read about others using this combination, and no one has mentioned any issues Previous defective mobo took the CPU with it This is the second mobo from Newegg, the first one wouldn't do squat, the PSU just clicked twice, no activity LEDs or anything.ĬPU is defective (read this is extremely rare) I have checked the socket for bent pins, can't find any Unplugged and replugged the different connections Jumping the power switch pins results in the red CPU led coming on, and the CPU fan starts spinning. Once the PSU is turned on, the mobo's rgb lights up and the standby led turns on. Tried inserting the ram, too, but this didn't change anything. CPU 8 pin, and the big 24 pin plugs are plugged in, and the CPU fan is plugged in, but not mounted. The current mobo is getting a solid red led indicating a CPU error, and no diagnostic beeps.Īfter following the troubleshooting steps on Tom's Hardware, the setup is breadboarded on my desk (on a non-conductive surface), with just the mobo, CPU, PSU, and CPU fan plugged in. I have two builds under my belt, but have never had a problem before, and don't have much experience troubleshooting as a result. ![]()
